After receiving his MD from Brown University, William D. Jones, went on to complete his internship and residency in internal medicine with a concentration in occupational and preventive medicine. Throughout his medical studies, Dr. William D. Jones was distinguished as a chief resident at the University of Oklahoma Department of Family & Preventive Medicine and as an Outstanding Resident of the Year by the American Medical Association. Since 1996, he has served as private practitioner and court-appointed independent medical examiner in Oklahoma City, OK.

Also an active community leader, Dr. Jones has sponsored several youth sports teams in the area, as well as the Angels Foundation at the SWAT Academy to help youth from low-income areas participate in sports. He is also a supporter of the local 4-H Canine Search and Rescue training program and serves as a secretary for the Irish Setter Club of Oklahoma.

William D. Jones studied French during his undergraduate studies at Vanderbilt University, as well as Spanish at Oklahoma State University, and he is proficient in both languages. An adventurous traveller, he has been to the French-speaking areas of Quebec, North and Central Africa, the Middle East, and Central and South America.
